bpl 1, media trucks 0

Who says there's no library angle to this convention? I got to the Westin Boston, got credentials, and am sitting outside the BPL using their wireless and listening to the sonorous melodies of the Falun Gong parade. I just watched BPL head and fellow ALA Councilor Bernie Margolis chase off a bunch of media trucks that had decided to park on the newly redone front entrance to BPL. Press passes need to be renewed daily at a hotel that is nowhere near the Fleet Center but is very close to the lovely downtown library [and apparently the Mass Delgates welcoming event this evening]. O. This is such fun. Is there a blogger meeting tonight? I am watching 24/7 on C-Span, have Air America on and checking in here.

I hope to see the bloggers out there (at BOTH conventions) paying attention to the topics that get ignored by the newshandlers and arrangement specialists, out of a pathetic and trembling fear that something unscripted might happen.
