When we agreed to run this trial with Otter/Swift, I warned my contact there Kathleen Gilroy, who has commented above, that it would indeed be a test and that she would, no doubt, get an earful from the very engaged audience that we were about to deliver.

When Swift placed its initial agreement in front of me I went rather ballistic too. And in a very long weekend, we went through about five drafts of it. But in the end I decided to give the nice lady a break, because she really did listen to me.

I trust she will also listen to you, and the Swift service as it evolves will improve based on comments such as yours. So keep up the good work.

Sorry you won't make it to CIL this year. Hope to see you in '09.

A nice job summarizing everything and finding additional information, Jessamyn. Good to see Kathleen Gilroy respond. Let's hope they can make amends.

Yikes. There are a number of things that you found that need to be fixed. Facebook photo: we made the assumption that we were saving people the trouble of uploading another photo. We do deliver information to Facebook in the form of status updates from Swift so that people can let their networks know what they plan to do at the conference. This data also appears on SWIFT.

You raise some important issues about our terms of service. The service has evolved since these terms are written and at this point we are not actually hosting any content. All we do is point to things that speakers and users own and choose to share with SWIFT via tagging. So the TOS probably need to be fixed. And we need to get our web site caught up with the product.

Finally, I'm opening up the users group to anybody who wants to join.
