Totally back you up on the Jessa thing. She is indeed very elitist (and unstable - don't ask me how I know). I don't understand the popularity of bookslut, but I suppose she's found her niche. Seems strange, though, to mock the very medium which has ensured her popularity.

Weird that another MLA (Maryland Library Assn) was this past week, too. Kinda confusing to use that acronym with the presumption that library-interested readers would understand which you were talking about until the context.

Great post otherwise; love the honest assessment.

I think Anita is referring to this in the last paragraph: "but I felt that they and Jenna were talking across each other." In which case I think it is Jessa?

Thanks for your take on the session. We felt a weird vibe, too, and couldn't seem to do anything to change it. It did feel like two very different discussions that just never intersected. I don't know if it was that our motivations for blogging are so different or that our "industries" are so different. Still, it was interesting to hear about the marketshare, "I'm blogging for work but dislike it" viewpoint.

We have to goof off together more often! :)
